The Birth

The birth of this blog is a direct result of the birth of my second born.  Having a blog previously dedicated to my first child, it was decided to continue our blog as a family blog, hence, Poland Pedigree.  I know, clever, right?  A lot of the other name choices were taken.  I gave birth to humans, not dogs.

The previous posts were my husband posting in a timely manner.  Being that Wesley was born October 11 and I am just now posting (it is December 30th) you can see that adjusting to two children has been somewhat of a busy time for me.  However, I vow in the new year to be better and document as much as I can.  Funny, I am actually gearing up to go back to work next Wednesday after 12 wonderful weeks of leave.  **sigh**

So below are some pictures from the hospital and from the actual day of birth.  It was a fairly quick labor and birth and everything went well.  With my first child, I had my husband and my mother in the delivery room.  This second time around, my sister joined as well.  It was really relaxing and soothing despite my fears that it would be chaotic.  The three of them may know me better then anyone else and knew just how to keep me calm and collected.  They took turns playing with my hair while I tried to sleep, as I knew I needed all my strength when the pushing was to begin.  Marc was a great coach and very attentive.  Erin and Mom kept me laughing and kept others up to date through all the social media's available.  And thank goodness for Grandma Preston who watched my little princess while mommy and daddy were away.  She kept her very busy and showered her with attention during this confusing time for her.

After checking into the hospital around 8:00 pm, October 10th, Wesley was born a short 4 and a half hours later at 12:34 AM on October 11th.  He was bigger then Mallory weighing in at 8 lbs, 6 oz but was the same length as her at 21 inches.  The joy on that day is indescribable.  To welcome another baby to our family was such a great occasion and I am so very thankful.  So many new memories to make and challenges to overcome.  Here we go again....

Mallory meeting her brother for the first time.
My niece Aevan meeting her cousin for the first time.  Although 3 months his senior, he is just about her size!
